Griffin Oaks Park

This 6 acre community park provides recreation opportunities and nice gathering spaces for Hillsboro residents. There is a reservable picnic shelter with many picnic tables next to the community center. Benches are provided throughout the park along the paved path. The playground, basketball courts, softball field and open lawn offer a wide range of options for active play. The park can be accessed from the north off of NE Griffin Oaks Street and from the west off of NE 15th Avenue. Restrooms and drinking fountains are available.
The softball field can be accessed from the main path, next to the parking lot on the west side of the park. Benches on grass are provided for players.
A full basketball court with six hoops around the sides can be accessed from the nearby path and from the adjacent lawn.
There are many benches throughout the park, along the path and at the major facilities.
The open lawn offers a very large space for active sports.
Off-street, accessible parking is provided on the north and west sides of the park, off of SE Frances Street and NE 15th Avenue.
All paths are paved. The six-foot wide paved path loops around the sports field and connects the west and east entrances of the park.
There are several accessible picnic tables at the picnic shelter.
The picnic shelter is next to the playground in the southeast corner of the park, and has a paved surface. Reservations are taken starting in January of the same year for April 15 - October 15 reservations.
There are two play areas with accessible play structures and swing sets on either side of the shelter. The surface of the play areas has wood chips and is level with the surrounding lawn and adjacent path.
There are temporary, oversized restroom facilities available next to the softball field, and also restroom facilities in the adjacent community center available during open hours. There are several drinking fountains located throughout the park.
