Shute Park

This 13-acre community park provides lots of opportunities for fun and relaxation to Hillsboro residents. The reservable picnic shelter and other picnic areas around the park have many tables for large gatherings. Benches are provided throughout the park along the paved paths. The large playground, pickleball court, performance stage and open lawn offer a wide range of options for activities. There are also two horseshoe pits. The park can be accessed from all sides and accessible parking is available on the west, north, and south sides. Accessible restrooms and drinking fountains are available. The Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center, Community Senior Center, and Library are right next to the park. Shute Park has picnic shelters and picnic areas that are available for rental. Reservations are taken starting in January of the same year for April 15 - October 15 reservations.
There are many benches throughout the park, along the path.
There are two horseshoe pits that are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Horseshoes are not provided.
A large lawn offers space for active play.
Off-street parking is provided on the northeast, southeast and west sides of the park, off of SE Maple Street, SE 10th Avenue and NE 8th Avenue.
All paths are paved. The five-foot wide paved path loops around the central lawn, and connects to the picnic areas and entrances.
The hard-surfaced pickleball court in the center of the park provides a fun workout and can be accessed from the main path or from the lawn.
There are several picnic areas with groupings of tables throughout the park. Accessible picnic tables can be found at the picnic shelter and on other paved surfaces.
The Park has two picnic shelters and three picnic areas that are available for rental. The paved picnic shelter has accessible picnic tables. The performance platform/stage may also be reserved. In addition, there are several fire pits with surrounding seating available for groups. Reservations are taken starting in January of the same year for April 15 - October 15 reservations.
There is a large playground with several accessible play structures and swing sets on the north side of the park, across from the community center. The surface of the play areas has bark chips and is level with the surrounding lawn and adjacent paved path.
Accessible restroom facilities are available in the adjacent community center during open hours. There are several drinking fountains located throughout the park.
The reservable stage hosts many performances.
